1949 Royal Visit One Crown New Zealand , A visit to New Zealand and Australia by King George VI, Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret was proposed, This coin was struck to commemorate the visit to New Zealand; 200,020 copies had already been prepared by the Royal Mint, London. Of these 190,000 were shipped to New Zealand, while the New Zealand Government made arrangements for the balance to be distributed for collectors: 4020 in the UK, 1000 in Canada and 5000 in the USA.

    The 1949 NZ crown is in a higher grade than I had hoped.I also appreciated the fact that it came in a free holder (unexpected),Also I had ordered the 2 available of these on the website.But they could only locate 1.That said – the postage was also reduced! Nice.
